Mother Daughter Sewing Camp Feb 10-12

Calling all mothers and daughters! If you have a desire to strengthen the bond between you and your daughter, a great way to do so is to work together towards a common goal. Many mothers have repeatedly expressed a sincere interest in learning to sew for their daughters and family, as well as a desire for their daughters to learn how to sew as well. We have planned a mother/daughter sewing weekend so, for busy mothers, there will be a one-time commitment instead of a weekly class. You only have to set aside one weekend out of your busy schedule to learn the basics of sewing! During this short weekend we will walk you through the process, from beginning to end, of picking a pattern, reading what you need to make it, deciding on the right kind of fabric for your project, sizing yourself or family accordingly to the pattern and finally making a nice A-line skirt for you and your attending daughter. You will learn how to sew elastic waist band, zipper and fixed waist band skirts.Enjoy the art of sewing together while making memories and building a relationship with your daughter following Proverbs 3.
The sewing weekend will start Thursday, February 10th at 1:30 p.m. We will be meeting at a sewing store for those that would like to pick out their own fabric and learn the process and do’s and don’ts of fabric buying. For those of you that aren’t able to make it to that part of the weekend, we will be meeting at the Ranch at 4:30 p.m. to start the evening’s classes! Classes will end at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12th!
Cost for the camp includes your pattern, food and instruction time. There will only be a few sewing machines available on first come basis, it is highly recommend that you bring your own machine to class, though not required. You will also be able to learn how to effectively operate your own machine during the class.
Cost for the Camp (for Mother & first daughter):
Overnight: $75 for both
Daytime: $70 for both
Additional Daughters: $25 each
Please let us know if you have a son that is interested.
Young ladies may attend without mom! Even if mom does not want to learn to sew we encourage you both to attend together.
